Tuesday Two Hundred: Ah, It’s Tax Day. Let’s Try $155,000 With a Pool…

Share News:

I know how poor you are feeling right about now. Have you sent in your check to Uncle Sam? Maybe you are reading this on your phone or ipad while waiting in line at the Post Office, where I was yesterday. (I wonder what happens when you bounce a check to the IRS… ) Well, I am feeling poor today, so I scoured for a home where I can move once they clear our bank account and I found this at 2005 St. Francis off Ferguson. (An Ed Murchison listing, who I sometimes refer to as Ed Cook!)  Hot damn, this home is adorable and even has a pool. Plus, you are going to eat up (as well as in) that aqua kitchen. Modern architectural design elements like vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, clerestory windows, hardwood floors and open layout. You get a little over 1400 square feet, three bedrooms and one and a half bath squeezed in, a carport. (Recall our discussions of carports in mid-century?) Then there’s the almost one quarter acre fenced backyard, covered patio (I am not a fan of the metal covering but hey, I’m too poor to fuss — beggars need not be choosers) and refreshing pool. (How much is chlorine? Can I deduct it?) Another plus: great location across from a park, where you can hide when they deliver those registered receipt letters,  and it is close to White Rock Lake. I’m not going to lie, this house needs some work but then, today, so do my finances…

I am in LURVE with this house! And it's like, practically down the street from me, so I wouldn't have to uproot but still get all the MCM charm for which I hanker.

I selfishly hope this is still on the market when I move to Dallas this summer.
