Yep, and it’s just a matter of time before Huffington picks it up. I’ve got so much more to add to this story, and so much more is yet to come! For now, whet… or shall I say, WET… your appetite!

Byron Harris at WFAA-TV is the guy who busted Richard Malouf. He’s got some more info coming down the pike, and we are both watching progress on what I have christened “Water Pic Park”, the massive backyard private water park project Malouf is building over at 10711 Strait Lane. So Friday we met in front of the house to check progress and talk about how the neighbors feel. (Hint: they are not happy.) You may recall, Malouf called the cops on me and accused me of trespassing on his property on August 22. I did not; was not even near Strait Lane and can prove it. Well, he wasted no time in calling the cops Friday on Byron Harris and his camera crew — this before I got there. Malouf drove out in his Bentley. Cops came, said WFAA doing nothing wrong. Cops left. I arrive for the interview. You can’t see much now from the front, the big 3-story tall tubes are now in the back. Oh but you can see plenty from the neighbor’s yard, hint hint. We are busy talking when we notice water being sprayed OVER the fence. From a hose — don’t worry, the cameras caught the whole thing. They told us (from behind the fence) they were watering the trees, but most of it was directed our way. It was so hot Friday, that little shower felt good!

But don’t get too excited. Defense attorney John Carney lives on Strait Lane, indeedy, or at least one of his trusts owns a home at 11484 Strait Lane. But I don’t think he’ll exactly be slip sliding away down at Richard Malouf’s Water Pik Park.
No handcuffs yet, I’m still able to blog. While I was touring a gorgeous home in Kessler today, noonish, another Dan Nelson treasure (stay tuned, stay very tuned), Robert Wilonsky at the Dallas Morning News emails me that I’m in trouble: Richard Malouf filed a complaint against me with the Dallas Police Department. Read this all quickly on my iphone and called Robert, per his request, to do some ‘splaining. (No doubt my husband will be wanting some next.) It seems Richard Malouf is not happy that I took some photos of his front yard lined with the future components of his Water World. And he claims that I entered his construction gates to do so:

Phil Romano’s gorgeous estate at 10660 Strait Lane is on the market with another agent, at another price: only ten million dollars.
Wait, whadda mean “another agent”? It’s Doris Jacobs, not just “another agent” but one of the tip-top agents in Dallas who sells multi-million dollar homes while perusing the sale racks at Neimans. In fact, Doris Jacobs had Phil’s listing initially in 2004, but priced the nearly 5 acre estate at $17.5 million. What can I say, those were the days, really the days. The 14,748-square-foot mansion that sits off Strait Lane is almost directly across from the WaterWorld Richard Malouf is building. Ross Perot is right down the street.
The Malouf’s bought 10711 Strait Lane four years ago from Comer Cottrell, who had build the house but not completed it. When they got it, the inside was just sheet rock. 15,000 square feet of sheet rock plus a cabana. He hired professional designers to finish it out beautifully, elegantly, and the home was a true showplace, with custom-made beds, furniture, and linens and extravagant chandeliers, trims, and finishes. By 2010, it was a showplace. The Maloufs entertained often, once even flying in a Michael Jackson impersonator from Vegas.

Do you recall the saga of Dr. Richard J. Malouf , who apparently built quite a fortune and then some through Medicaid orthodontics? For one, he is getting closer to completing the 30,000-square-foot earth-friendly compound he is constructing over on Strait Lane.
