With rates falling as they have over the past few years, a lot of people refinanced their homes and investment properties. And yet, rates keep falling to historic lows. Does it make sense to refinance again?
Are they now GIVING homes away? From the looks of this, you would think it. Here’s another cutie you could practically put on your Citibank for lots of miles! (Never do that: mortgage rates are too low, credit interest too high. And Doc Compton will beat me!) This cute cute 1292 square foot brick traditional at 9053 Longmont is in that sought-after L street division of Lake Highlands, and you even get the Richardson Independent School District. I just cannot believe what I am writing, but there are three bedrooms and two baths. Also beautiful original but freshly refinished hardwood floors and the charm of 1954 construction style. I would say the one bathroom lavatory looks a little like they got it at The Dump or on the close-out aisle at Home Depot but hello, replace it for what $500? Very fond of the original tiles. What the hell happened to the tiles in the white bathroom with the pedestal sink? (Love the look of pedestals but totally impractical. Good only for powder rooms.) I cannot believe that the updated kitchen has new granite counter tops, that is like STEALING! Call the police! There is also new backsplash plus those coveted stainless steel appliances. All this plus the home is open, bright and cheerful. Great big backyard with patio area, lot is .18 of an acre. You want .25 you will pay for it. One car garage: can you spell CONVERSION? Large front windows with a cute front porch for getting to know your neighbors, which is exactly what happens in this ‘hood. Just call it Wisteria Lane. So reminds me of our first home at 3550 Ainsworth. Priced so well to sell at $179,000, I will bet this pup is under contract by next Tuesday.
I just got off line with one of my fave mortgage gurus, Ron Schulz, over at Reliance, asking him what effects this new liquidity deal might have on our local real estate market. I love what he said:

Little mess up here: My flight back from San Fran was delayed Monday night due to rainy weather (which they needed) in Cali. I was up visiting Calistoga Ranch, as you may recall. So we decided to postpone our complimentary taste of Tasti-D-Lite on Tuesday, October 11 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 8611 Hillcrest Road, Hillcrest and NW Highway intersection. We are hosting it NEXT Tuesday October 18.
