Few months ago, I wrote up 11040 Tibbs, right down the street from me, gorgeous 5696 square foot home built in 2009. The property started as a lot attached to the home next door, who then sold and parceled off the .70 acres. It has five bedrooms, five and a half baths, four living areas, a beautiful outdoor living area with waterfall and pool, 21 foot ceilings, hand-scraped wood flooring, travertine tile, granite counters, chef’s kitchen with abundance of storage, master with sitting area with walk in closet that wraps around to a study with shelves.. I said that Holland picked up this number for $935,000 — a home run! Continue reading
My official 2012 real estate wrap is up on CultureMap.com, whose Dallas debut is definitely one of the best things that happened to our city in 2012. Talk about changing the face of Dallas media! (We need it!) I spent New Year’s Eve and most of last week musing over the biggest and best Dallas real estate deals and agents of the year — and really, truly, I have to say it all started with the April auction sale of Champs D’Or, which made awesome broker agent Clay Stapp a mighty happy man as he brought the buyer. I expect more great things from Clay Stapp & Associates in the coming year. Continue reading
Sometimes too much space, too many bedrooms, and too much backyard can be more of a burden than blessing. Downsizing, especially if you find a great location, is the perfect solution. This State Thomas townhome at 2445 Worthington Street is the perfect size for a Park Cities empty nester who wants to stay close to the action.
The Ross Avenue area is on its way up, at least that’s what all of the developers investing in mid-rises and empty lots think about the long stretch that takes folks out of downtown and into East Dallas.
I about died when I saw this Realtor ad on AOL Real Estate — of course it’s from a Canadian firm. The Canuks can just get away with more than we can when it comes to billboard advertising.
If you want to rent a single-family home, sometimes the best way to find one is to drive around in the neighborhood you want to move to and look for a “For Lease” sign with a hand-written telephone number.
Sure, it’s time consuming and uses a ton of gas, but it’s better than combing through the crappy pictures on Craigslist, right? But what if you’re looking to rent in an area where “For Lease” signs are shunned. What if you don’t have time to tote a kid around while you drive up and down blocks looking for your next lease? What if you’re looking in a very specific area for very specific reasons, such as a school district? Where can you look? Continue reading
While the rest of the city was getting drenched by Wednesday night storms, we sipped wine in the Dorothy Draper- designed Penthouse of the Stoneleigh Hotel, drooling over the boards and renderings of Dallas newest high rise condo, The Residences at The Stoneleigh, and honor The Rise School.

Jamie Laubhan-Oliver is a very stylish girl. She’s got more shares on houzz than bathrooms in Champ d’Or. And seriously? Her own post on styleswoon? The girl can decorate (and I hear her husband helps!). Seriously, it’s like I walked into catalog living!
Andrea Gonzaba. She is adorable. She also just joined Clay Stapp & Company who is, as you know, one of the hottest real estate brokers in town, and I don’t mean just because he’s cute. Clay brought the buyer to Champ d’Or at the March 30 auction, as you know, raising the most well-Botoxed brows in town. Andrea emailed me out of the blue in January asking for advice on starting her own blog and kick-starting her apartment leasing business:
