Thursday Three Hundred on Candy Time: Go Euro in West Highland Park, and You’ll Never Leave

I think West Highland Park is about as perfect a neighborhood you can get in Dallas. You are close to EVERYTHING:  Highland Park Village, U.T. Southwestern Medical Center, Love Field, Turtle Creek, Inwood Village, the North Dallas Tollway, “Central Dog Park”, and everything on Lemmon Ave. Recall that for me my perfect retirement home will be within walking distance of Highland park Village.

So 3831 S. Versailles Ave. caught my eye. First of all, you get that chi chi Versailles addy without spending $1.2 mill. You get 2465 square feet, two or three bedrooms (depends on what you want to do with boudoir numero three) two and a half baths, two living areas, beautifully remodeled gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops and custom cabinets, wet bar with shelves and wine cooler, accent lighting, and something many homes in the area do NOT have: closets, lots of closets. There is also a large en-suite master bath with double vanities, a soaking tub and separate fully enclosed walk-in shower. The backyard is landscaped for privacy and sports a slate surface patio. I also love the automatic sprinkler system to handle the watering when you are OOT at your second home. Also rare in this neck of the vintage 1950 hood: a 2 car attached garage with additional storage. Want to know why? Because this home was built in 1976 when people had 2.5 cars per family.

There is a bedroom on each floor, one on the second with study (or third) one on thirds floor. Not to worry about the stairs: there is room to add an elevator in one closet. Very well-planned, thoughtfully executed townhome at an asking price of $369,000 with zero, got that, zero HOA dues or fees. I want one for Christmas!
