Hot Properties: Bryan and Amanda Crawford Are a One-Two Power Punch With Briggs Freeman

Where are you from? If you’re not Dallas natives, what brought you to our fair burg? Amanda: I’m a Dallas native with a special place in my heart for the State-Thomas neighborhood in Uptown. Bryan: I’m from Hammond, a small town outside of New Orleans. After graduating college, I moved to Dallas to pursue a career in finance, progressing to real estate.

What neighborhood do you call home? We currently reside in Hollywood-Santa Monica (aka Hollywood Heights) a conservation district, in Old East Dallas. We discovered our home in the fall, every other house was decorated and we realized this close-knit neighborhood had a unique personal presence. We adore the charm and character of our 1930s Storybook Tudor. In our downtime we walk our three dogs Avery, Charlie and Oliver at White Rock Lake as well as shop and dine locally.

What’s your favorite neighborhood in Dallas? Why?  We are inspired by a home’s beauty, architecture and design in distinct pockets. We are intrigued by bungalows in Briarwood, quaint cottages in Devonshire, extraordinary mansions in Highland Park and University Park, the grounds of an estate in old Preston Hollow, and luxury high rises on Turtle Creek.

If you could move anywhere in Dallas, where would you call home? Our next home will be a Dines & Kraft Mediterranean style home with a multicolor tile roof in the Lakewood community. Although, a penthouse at the Ritz Carlton wouldn’t be too shabby.

How did you get started in real estate? How did you two manage to choose the same job in the same firm? Amanda, a seasoned agent, introduced me (Bryan) to a group that sold investment properties where I learned the ins and outs of the business. We teamed up in 2010 and have grown our business tremendously by combining our contacts and talents.

Everybody has had a transaction that left them feeling like king (or queen!) of the world. What was yours? We had two multi million transactions in the last 12 months that made us feel pretty good in a monetary sense, but we mainly enjoy finding our clients the perfect fit. Recently, a client who wanted a modern townhome in Uptown, after exhausting every option on market we located the perfect match, it was not on market or listed for sale and we negotiated the transaction to work out for all parties involved.

Have you had a sale that you’ll never forget? One house we sold took three executed offers before we made it to the closing table.

What are your secrets to success? Likewise, as an agent, what is your specialty? Knowledge is power & relationships are crucial. We keep up with our marketplaces on a daily basis, few things get past us. Marketing a property and negotiating a sale are day-to-day tasks, but being able to relate this information and have personable skills is what we attribute to our success.

If not real estate, what’s your passion? We thrive off the energy music brings into our home and business. We welcome the chance to travel across the country for music festivals and performances.

What’s the perfect place for a second home? Aspen? Costa Rica? It could be anywhere! Through Sotheby’s International Realty we have grown our market share globally. Our dream is to own and sell real estate in Positano Italy on the Amalfi Coast, where we were married. We think it’s one of the most remarkable cities in the world with views that take your breath away. It’s a very special place for us.
