Tuesday Two Hundred: Lochwood Mid-Century Modern Feels Like a Treehouse

Share News:

This mid-century modern is nestled on a treed lot in Lochwood.

I am in love. Again.

I fell hard for the little Mid-Century Modern on St. Francis that was snapped up just four days after you saw it here on Candy’s Dirt. It was such a deal, and obviously I wasn’t the only person who felt that way.

So, knowing that someone is going to find this little ditty in Lochwood marketed by Ebby’s Brandon Stewart with three bedrooms, two baths, and 1,686 square feet of awesome, I’m not going to get my hopes up. The romance between me and the clerestory windows, treed lot, and views of a placid creek is doomed from the start.

That doesn’t mean I won’t send it this sweet love letter, though. I mean, how could I compare its lovely original finishes, cool modern fire place, brick floors, and adorable kidney-shaped pool to a summer’s day?

And, it’s just down the street from Lochwood Park, which has a brand new playground and tennis courts. It’s close to shopping, and it’s not far from Northwest Highway and 635 should you need to commute. And there are no bad views from all of the gigantic floor-to-ceiling windows.

But let’s be real: At $239,000, someone is surely stalking this gal, built in 1961, and will snap it up before I can get a showing. Just like last time …

I thought of you Candy when I saw this listing over the weekend. 🙂

Actually I think the pool looks to be shaped like Mick Jaggar's lips.

Cool house! Although, I have a fear of living so close to those big electric poles.

I drove by on Clearbrook Lane and a home inspector was completing his inspection.
He said it was already under contract !

I just saw this house last week, and was told when I showed up that it was under contract. Whoever gets this house is very lucky – needs some work, but will be a fun project and will definitely look AMAZING when it's done!

The HOA in my rental neighborhood is driving me insane. Have you ever had this problem?
